Sarajo Frieden is an artist and illustrator based in Los Angeles. Her work has been featured in illustrated fiction, magazines, commercials, textiles, paper products, bedding and lamps, to name a few.

Viktor Koen was born in 1967 in Thessaloniki, Greece. He holds a BFA from the Bezalel Academy of Arts & Design in Jerusalem and an MFA with honors from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. Mr. Koen serves on the faculty of Parsons School of Design and the MFA program of the School of Visual Arts. His images are regularly published in the NYTimes Book Review, Time, Newsweek, Esquire, Money and Forbes.

History and humor marry together beautifully in the illustrations of Martin Hargreaves, and his versatile style has seen him creating everything from pastiche images mimicking the great masters to fantastical beasts and still life paintings. You’ll find his work in advertising, children’s books, magazines and newspapers, and even at Hampton Court Palace.

It’s no surprise to learn that Martin’s greatest inspiration comes from classical painters like William Hogarth, Hans Holbein, Rembrandt and Giovanni Battista Piazzetta. In fact, he says that if he could travel back in time he would visit the 18th century, and alongside his love of Renaissance artwork he also loves classical music.

Martin works from a shed in his garden, with large windows through which he can see apple trees and the rolling hills of East Sussex. If he ever gets creative block, he likes to dig in his vegetable garden, or look after his many pets, which include two dogs, three horses, two guinea pigs and seven chickens.

Martin has a BA Illustration from Brighton Polytechnic (now Brighton University).

His approach and the media he uses vary from project to project, but he always begins drawing with a simple pen on paper until he has an idea of what direction the image will take. Martin works in traditional media – oil paints, watercolor, pen and ink – and is also adept at making changes digitally as required. The 2B pencil is his all-time favorite art tool.

Martin’s inspiration comes from the old masters, and the styles he works in follow on from that. In his portfolio you’ll see fine paintings that look just like Rembrandts, and others that are more like 18th century engravings or 19th century book illustrations. In short, he will come up with a style that suits the brief.

David Pintor was born in a seaside windy city named A Coruña, in the northwest of Spain. He began his career as a cartoonist in the 90′s. In 2007, he was featured in the illustrator’s exhibition at Bologna book fair, and since that time, he has collaborated with publishers all over the world. His caricatures and the simplicity of his drawings, his lines and colour choices make for a fun and elegant style. He has been awarded by SND, selected in Bratislava biennial, and selected by White Ravens list. He primarily works in Spain, but likes very much travelling all over the world with his moleskine and some pens. All of his travels appear in his drawings. He loves New York, Venezia, Paris, Sidney, Barcelona, London… He has a studio, but sometimes he likes to work in a coffee shop with soft music, nice views and a very hot coffee on the table.

Laura Huliska- Beith is a graduate of the Kansas City Art Institute. She grew up in Omaha Nebraska, the oldest of 5 children and her siblings were the inspiration behind her first picture book, The Book of Bad Ideas (although she takes full credit for Bad Idea #143). She has since illustrated many books including Bubble Gum, Bubble Gum by Lisa Wheeler, The Recess Queen and The Worst Best Friend both by Alexis O’Neill. Most recently illustrated books are The Wild, Wild Inside (March 2010) by Kate Feiffer and The Adventures of Granny Clearwater and Little Critter (October 2010) by Kimberly Willis Holt.

Based in sunny Los Angeles, Sunny Gu is an artist who’s curious about culture. She loves to look for beauty in everything around her and then recreate it in her art. It certainly shows through in her work, which is full of colour, glamour, fashion and ornamentation.

Sunny was born in China but emigrated to the US when she was 13. She’s loved drawing for as long as she can remember. Her nickname is ‘Bee’ because she’s obsessed with flowers and if you look inside her wardrobe you’ll be overwhelmed by the colourful floral prints and patterns inside. She has plenty of accessories to go with the garments - again, they form important elements in her illustration work.

Her overall aim is to preserve the beauty she sees around her.

Sunny studied illustration at the Otis College of Art and Design in LA, and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.

Each illustration begins with a series of rough sketches, which Sunny uses to develop the composition. Once she’s decided on the composition, she works on the details and then starts painting. Her favourite medium is watercolour – she loves their vibrant and unpredictable nature. Occasionally, she uses graphite or acrylic paints for some of the textures. Sunny will use a computer to create surface designs and textile patterns.

When she’s painting, Sunny says she’s bathed in happiness and she puts that across in bright colour and rich detail. The focus on beauty and feeling is clear in her work and she wants to bring joy to whoever looks at it.

Walter Newton was born in 1981 in Glasgow. He remained there for the next 21 years, attending the Glasow School of Art before being lured to the bright lights of London and the Royal College of Art. Five years later, Walter lives and works in Birmingham, drawing pictures and sporadically animating for anyone that will let him near them.

Born in Guadalajara, Mexico, Cecilia Rebora belongs to a creative family of painters, a sculptor, and a wood carver. As long as she can remember, Cecilia could be found with a crayon in her hand. Shortly after beginning her studies in the arts, Cecilia discovered that what she enjoyed most in life was telling stories with pictures. She studied for three years at the Josep Serra I Abella School of Fine Arts in Barcelona. It was there that she truly fell in love with the profession. She has since published 18 children’s books and contributes to a popular children’s magazine called Tareas E Ilustraciones. She and her husband, Luis, have welcomed a new edition to their family named Mateo, a delightful boy who sleeps most of the time. When not illustrating, she enjoys sipping a hot cappuccino and taking in the sun on a chilly morning. Cecilia’s goals are to continue illustrating for a very long time and to always see the smile on her son’s face.

Katie Vernon is an illustrator who has spent most of her life in the midwest but whose heart belongs in the mountains. Her inspiration comes from being a florist, working with alpacas, and living on a bus. Some of her favorite things include rearranging furniture, seltzer water, and two different species of animals becoming friends. Katie is also rather fond of her partner, daughter, and part-dingo dog. In 2015 Katie won the Special Studio Award in Lilla Rogers Global Talent Search competition. Daniel Johnson is a digital artist with a BFA in Illustration and a background in traditional media. Now a freelance illustrator and visual effects artist, he worked for years as an Art Director, Illustrator, and Animator at an ad agency in Sonoma County, CA. Dan is an Adobe Certified Expert and has taught computer graphics at various locations in California, including the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. As a digital artist, he is largely self-taught and enjoys sharing his experience gained through years of trial and error. He won the Guru award in Illustration at the 2007 PhotoshopWorld and was also the spotlighted designer in the May/June 2008 issue of Layers magazine.

Kim Johnson studied at the Corcoran School of Art before beginning a career as a graphic designer. After designing one corporate brochure too many, she thought it would be more fun to be an animator, which was indeed the case. She subsequently moved on to designing and directing animation for television commercials and program openings, such as "The Nanny" and "The Rosy O'Donnell Show". This was even more fun than animating had been, as she was now able to boss around numerous talented persons. She currently lives in suburban Connecticut, with her family, including two daughters who boss her around mercilessly. Poetic justice? Perhaps. Her illustrative style today reflects her roots in animation, and includes her own animated work..

Kazushige Nitta graduated from Dokkyo University with a B.A. in economics in 1987 before coming to the United States and enrolling at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. In the same year, he won two prestigious awards presented by The New York Society of Illustrators Scholarship Competition, and The Smithsonian Air & Space Museum. In 1992 he was honored with both the New York Society of Illustrators International Competition Advertising Award and Book Award. Within months after graduating SVA, Kazu landed his first of several children's book assignments at Simon & Schuster. A short time later he was called upon to illustrate Dr. Theodore Geisel's first posthumous book at Random House called "My Many Colored Days". ZERO is an alter ego created by Miguel Lima, an artist and illustrator born in Lisbon. Gynux was born in Villefranche-sur-Saône, France and currently resides in Lyon. As a child, he had always been drawn to storytelling and illustration. Growing up, he was impressed by Rembrandt’s use of contrast in his compositions, Hirao Miyasaki’s use of detail and unique characters in his cartoons, and the color palette of Dominique Louis’s illustrations. He studied industrial engineering in college and later worked as a furniture and graphic designer. However, he came to realize that there were some boundaries which had been suppressing his creativity by solely focusing on industrial design. He craved the spontaneity that comes from being free to recreate anything from his wildest dreams and his farthest imaginations. Luckily, Gynux met some illustrators at an exhibit which brought him back into the realm of drawing and illustration. His inspiration comes from a wide range of sources – cartoons, fine arts, architecture, film and especially music. While not illustrating, he loves to travel and has visited Turkey, Austria, Spain, England, Greece, Netherlands, Italy, Belgium, and Germany. Gynux also enjoys spending his free time riding his bike through the forest and playing his piano.

Steven was born in Boston, Massachusetts. He received a bachelors's degree in sociology from the University of Connecticut in 1979, and an BFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York in 1982.
He became a full-time Illustrator working exclusively on the Mac in 1992 producing infographics, technical, architectural and scientific illustrations for publishing and advertising clients. In the late 90s Steven added watercolor-based maps to his repertoire, which he paints traditionally, scans, and finishes in Photoshop.
In addition to illustration Steven is an active intaglio printmaker, and focuses on making artists' books. He moved to Massachusetts' Pioneer Valley from New York City in 2010.

Gerad Taylor, born in Auckland New Zealand in 1960 has worked for over twenty five years as a freelance illustrator catering to the design, publishing and advertising industries.

Gerad graduated with a degree in design and illustration from Massey University School of design in 1984 and has worked in both New Zealand and Australia. He currently works for clients across the globe, in America, Australia, Ireland and the UK. Kevin Sprouls introduced the hallmark portrait style to the Wall Street Journal in 1979. Between 1979 and 1987, Kevin worked on staff for the paper, creating illustrations and training artists in the style. At the time of his departure from the daily activity of putting out the paper, he was Assistant Art Director in charge of the in-house artists, which numbered 4-5 staff artists, and 2-3 part-timers.

He has been quite active in the freelance illustration sphere since then, contributing to advertising, publishing, editorial and corporate projects. His style is notable for its high level of detail and traditional, engraving like effect.

Sprouls’ work has been featured in the Smithsonian magazine, a web exhibit of the National Portrait Gallery, and a major exhibit celebrating Columbus Day which was mounted in Grand Central Terminal, New York in 2005. He is currently the principal portrait artist for Worth Magazine. He was the portraitist for the popular Infiniti “Drivers” ad campaign, appearing weekly in the Wall Street Journal for the 2+ years.

Mr. Herrman has also commissioned Rodriguez for the Cinco De Mayo Stamp and the Celebrate the Century “1980’s” series of stamps. The Cinco De Mayo stamp was the first postage stamp ever jointly.commissioned by the United States and another country {Mexico} He has won five gold medals and four silver medals, as well as two Patrick Nagel Awards from SILA, the Hollywood Reporter Key Arts Award, many regional awards from across the country, the Airbrush Action Achievement Award, and the great teacher award from Art Center.

A self taught illustrator and perspectivist, Mr. Junget began his career illustrating architecture in 1991. Trained as a tool and die maker, he worked for over twenty years in the space and aircraft industries. After company downsizing, he set out to build a new career in illustration.

In 2004 Mr. Junget was invited to teach Perspective at the Institute for the Study of Classical Architecture. That year also found him closing the doors to his studio and beginning a career as Illustrator in Residence at the prestigious classical architecture firm of Ferguson and Shamamian.

In 2006, Mr. Junget moved to the firm of Hart Howerton Planners and Architects also as Illustrator in Residence.

In 2007, with the support and sponsorship of the venerable pen and ink illustrator Murray Tinkelman, Mr. Junget was elected to the Society of Illustrators, a life long dream.

March of 2009 saw Mr. Junget once again opening the doors of his freelance studio as Andre Junget Traditional Illustration.

Monica was born in Rosario city in Argentina but now lives in Buenos Aires with her husband, Alejandro, their 2 children, Sebastian and Lucia, and their 4 dogs! As a young girl, Monica was always drawing and creating with her crayons and paints. She went on to study visual art education at the School of Art in Buenos Aires. She started out working as a colorist for book publishers, newspapers, and magazines publications. Nowadays, she is dedicating most of her time to children’s illustration.
