Archer, Andrew

Butzer, Chris

C.M. Butzer was raised in a small town just outside of Portland, Oregon. In 1992, Butzer left Oregon to attend Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle where he earned a BFA in Illustration. After school he worked for Wizards of the Coast before moving to Florence, Italy. There, he met Luigi Galante who ran a didactic illustration studio, Studio Galante. After working for Studio Galante for five years, he moved to New York City to earn his MFA in Illustration at the School of Visual Arts. He currently teaches at SVA.

Aside from teaching and working as an illustrator, storyboard and concept artist out of his studio in Brooklyn, Butzer also illustrates graphic novels. His first novel, Gettysburg, was published by Harper Collins in 2009. He is currently working on a second novel.

Griffo, Daniel

Daniel Griffo was born on March 8th, 1973 in La Plata, Argentina, where he currently resides with his wife Elba, his baby boy Benjamin and his two pets Indiana and Jones. As a young child, he was always drawn towards creating and drawing images. At 10, he took his first steps into the world of illustration with the guidance of his drawing and painting instructor who taught him the basic foundations of the craft. In his teens, he became a self-taught comic illustrator and worked for both Argentinean and Italian publishers. Shortly afterwards, he worked for various studios creating licensed art, where he sharpened his skills and amassed a great deal of experience. Suzanne Beaky grew up in Gahanna, Ohio, and studied illustration at Columbus College of Art and Design. Her expressive illustrations are commissioned by children's book, magazine and educational publishers worldwide. She received the Durham (N.C.) Arts Council Emerging Artist Award and the Ellen Dolan Memorial Mentorship Award from the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators-Missouri. Originally a student of political science, French-Canadian artist Rémy Simard began his career as an illustrator in 1980. Working from Montreal, he creates computer-generated illustration for a large variety of clients including Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, Federal Express, General Motors, Citibank, Fidelity Communications, Better Homes & Gardens, Book-of-the-Month Club, McGraw-Hill and Scott Foresman, in the U.S.; and Chrysler, Nissan, Banque Nationale de Paris, Cantel, Ville de Montreal and YTV in Canada. He has also written and illustrated several children's' books, including Monsieur Noir et Blanc, a finalist for Canada's Governor's Prize. Smith, Jamie

During his studies in illustration at DeMontfort University in Leicester, England, Jamie was runner-up for the coveted Macmillan Prize for his work on Flap Doodle, a charming story set on an English farm. Since his graduation in 1994, he has illustrated close to 50 children’s books, a large percentage of which have been quirky, eccentric stories. He has just completed the interior illustrations for a series of Jigsaw Jones chapter books by James Preller (Scholastic USA), which he enjoyed for the chance it gave him to develop characters over a five-book run. His interests apart from illustration include soccer, music and travel. After four consecutive years of holidays in Italy, Jamie decided to live in Tuscany for several years so that he can enjoy its food, wine, climate and people on a daily basis. Serge Seidlitz, an English/German hybrid born in Kenya, grew up traveling between the U.K. and Asia, and a steady diet of MTV and Mad Magazine fueled his desire to become an illustrator. He combines elements from popular culture with diverse influences to create work that forms an iconic and graphic language, and explores original ideas through maps, infographics, character design, and other media. Following his studies in graphic design at Camberwell College of Arts, he worked as an in-house designer at Cartoon Network before leaving to focus on illustration. Seidlitz has an ever-evolving list of clients, including The New York Times, The Guardian, NME Magazine, MTV, VH1, Lush Cosmetics, British Airways, Sony Playstation, Vodafone, Orange, Coca-Cola, and Honda. He won an AOI Gold Award in 2006 and his first solo show was mounted in London in 2011.
