Yana Beylinson is a New York City-based artist, illustrator and designer. Widely known for her organic, natural and completely unique style, Yana has worked with a variety of clients in fashion, book and magazine publishing, textile design, and corporate world. John's formal training was not in illustration, but rather theology, which he received at Cambridge University. However, he always loved drawing, and one of his early jobs was as a newspaper cartoonist. But he says that he really learned to draw when he worked at the British Museum, drawing oriental objects to scale. In his children's books illustrations, he is particularly inspired by what he calls "the gooniness" of young school children. John and his family divide their time between Brighton, England and Long Island, New York.

A native Ohioan, Chris O'Leary was born in Youngstown and studied painting at the Columbus College of Art and Design. He worked briefly in Cincinnati for the Gibson Greeting Card Co. and has been freelancing ever since, creating paintings for clients such as Barnes and Noble, Atlantic Monthly, Vegetarian Times, the L.A. Times, Readers Digest, the Boston Globe, Barron's Weekly, and Ohio Magazine. He now lives in Columbus with his wife, Tricia, and daughters, Lily and Kate. Before he had kids, he played finger style guitar, was the project director for the restoration of an urban ravine, and took long bicycle trips, but now he pretty much just watches after the kids...and paints.

Jomike Tejido is an architect and award-winning illustrator and author who has made over 50 children’s books in his hometown in Manila. Some of which are Tagu-Taguan (Hide and Seek) (1st National Children’s book awards, Best Reads 2010), The Amazing Hat, and the Foldabots Toy Books. He has also worked with Oxford University Press, McGraw-Hill, and most recently, Scholastic. Jomike enjoys art inspired by nature and is reflective in his other venture as a painter on hand-woven mats. Apart from art, Jomike enjoys playing soccer, eating seafood, cooking and traveling to new places. Jomike lives in Manila, Philippines with his wife and baby daughter, Sophia.

With Filipino and European roots, and with freckles from head to toe, Jennifer Maravillas feels as if she’s on a detective-like quest to understand as many different perspectives as possible. Her roots as an artist, meanwhile, go back to her training in ballet as a child. She sees her art as a kind of ballet performed on paper using a marker.

She rarely restricts herself to just a marker, though. Watercolour, spray paint and various other media are used in her illustrations. As a side project, she has made a map of Brooklyn out of garbage, and in future plans to try and map as much of the world as she can. On top of painting, her passions are anthropology and sociology.

Jennifer did an undergraduate degree is in Graphic Design at the University of Louisville and a graduate degree is in Mass Communication at Virginia Commonwealth University.

The techniques Jennifer uses are constantly changing, and her style often comes as a result of the medium she’s exploring at a given time. By and large she’s a mixed media artist, always trying new materials and combinations of them – typically they include watercolour markers, ink, spray paint, pencil, cut out paper, block printing, and Photoshop. Sometimes she allows a composition to evolve without knowing what the end result might be like, other times she has a clear idea in her head of what she wants.

Jennifer is fascinated by the digital process. She scans in every doodle and texture she draws or paints, keeping them for reference or for use as layers in new pieces.

Jennifer uses vibrant colour combinations as she builds up maps, cityscapes and scenery from hundreds of smaller handmade elements. Some of her influences include Werner Herzog, Mary Blair, Guy Debord, and Buckminster Fuller.

In Sylvia's years of experience as a freelance illustrator she has cultivated a style that clients call upon to convey a sense of beauty and place. When an art director is looking for painterly representation, her style is very effective. All projects start with pencil drawings and finish with an original watercolor painting.

When Martha Napier took the leap and became a full-time freelance illustrator in 2013, the world of fashion design lost a wonderful creator, but the world of illustration gained an excellent artist. Martha’s vivid watercolours and loose, almost naïve style, have given a lighthearted lift to all kinds of interesting projects in fashion, advertising, editorial and more. She also does live painting for clients, and was named a top illustrator to watch on Instragram by InStyle magazine.

Martha was born in the Midwest, grew up in Germany, and today splits her time between Chicago and New York. She loves fashion – that much is clear – and her most admired designers include Miuccia Prada, Marni, and Phoebe Philo. Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Henri Matisse and Cy Twombly are three artists that inspire her.

Beyond art and fashion, she’s had a fascinating life. She’s travelled to the North Pole, and to the Galapagos Islands. “The only place I’ve seen a cactus, a flamingo and a penguin in the same location,” she says.

Martha has a BA in Studio Art from Wake Forest University, and was a Presidential Scholar at the same college in Fine Art. She discovered her love of fashion illustration at the Parsons School of Design, where she studied for a post grad degree in Fashion Design.

Watercolours are Martha’s main media, but she also uses markers, pencils and acrylics. She scans the work into Photoshop and uses the application to clean it up and colour correct it before delivering it to her clients.

Martha is very much a gestural painter, with a very fine skill in getting paints to flow from her brush and soak beautifully into the paper, and to mix with one another. Seen up close, it’s a gorgeous effect. Her work is vibrant and vivid as you can see, and full of joy and whimsy.

Richard studied graphic design briefly in South Florida. He returned north to study design and illustration, receiving his BFA from School of Visual Arts in NYC. Continued studies include Parsons School of Design and the New School in New York. Early professional years were spent in publishing, quickly moving on as a freelance artist creating illustrations for many advertising, publishing and design companies such as New York Times and Strathmore with work reproduced in Germany and Spain. Works include traditional as well as digital. A strong visual vocabulary helped define his conceptual style across publishing, advertising, design and editorial markets. Richard Elmer teaches illustration at FIT, School of Art & Design in NYC.

Jennifer Zivoin is a children's book illustrator living in Carmel, Indiana. Although she has been trained in media ranging from figure drawing to virtual reality, her passion is bringing stories to life through her paintings. Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with highest distinction from the honors division of Indiana University. She then began her professional career as a graphic designer, and later became a creative director at a multimedia design company. Sarah Walsh is an internationally published illustrator who's project range spans from picture books, apparel, home decor and greeting cards to name a few. I'm a UK based illustrator, brought up in SW England. I spent 4 years studying illustration at art college in Cornwall, followed by a couple of years working at an commercial illustration studio then 20 plus years living in Oxford as a freelancer. I’ve worked for most major publishers and a fair few small ones, during which time I’ve illustrated countless encyclopedias, reference and text books. Several years back I was commissioned by Oxford University Press to illustrate the maps for a history series, ranging from Ancient Romans to WWII. Since then maps have become my speciality. I am the main map artist for BBC History Magazine, my maps have appeared in atlases, books and as posters worldwide. I currently live and work with my family in Somerset on the edge of a village amongst old cider orchards, green fields and mole hills.

Judy Reed Silver's style focuses on an eclectic collage of illustration, design, photography, vintage and modern. Initially she worked at an art studio with other illustrators and designers for several years. Since then she has worked on her own for a wide variety of clients and projects such as product/packaging labels, posters, point of purchase, signage, direct mail, magazine ads, editorial, greeting cards, grade school textbooks, eBooks, websites, textiles, logos and even character development. Erika’s working techniques are both traditional and digital including pastels, acrylics, Photoshop, and vector-based illustrations using Illustrator. Robert Crawford graduated with a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design. His paintings have appeared on the cover of major magazines such as Fortune, Business Week, The Atlantic and U.S. News and World Report as well as book covers for best-selling books published by Random House, Penguin/Putnam, Avon and other major publishers. His work is popular with advertising agencies and is much sought after by Fortune 500 companies like IBM, Dupont and Ford. Robert Crawford was chosen by the German car maker, Volkswagen, to do six paintings for a book which celebrated Volkswagen's 50th anniversary. Robert's work has won numerous awards from the Society of Illustrators, Communication Arts, Graphis and Print. His paintings have been included in group shows in New York, Japan and Germany and he participated in the United Nation's sponsored show on the environment in New York City. That painting was featured on CBS's Sunday morning with Charles Osgood. Robert Crawford's work has been selected for permanent collection by the United States government and major corporations such as British Petroleum. Some other notable collector's include, Richard Reeves, the presidential historian, and Edward Gordon of ABC television.Robert's studio is located in northwest Ct.

John Mantha is a Toronto-based illustrator.

His major commissions include the design of nine coins for the Royal Canadian Mint, one of which was chosen coin of the year. He has done commemorative pieces for The Ford Motor Company and the Toronto Transit Commission, as well as 34 paintings for The Church of Our lady Of Good Counsel.

Working for book publishers, advertising agencies, magazines, corporations, television and movies, his work has been seen throughout North America.

Thus far, John has illustrated twenty-four books, including the Kids book of Canada's Railway, which won The Children's Literature Roundtables of Canada 2001 Information Book Award, and was an official selection for the 2003 Red Cedar Book Awards. The Kids Book of Canadian Exploration was nominated for the 2006 Hackmatack Award for non-fiction.

He works in oils and oil-wash, and uses photoshop to enhance the finished piece. His style is realistic in nature with an emphasis on texture.

Richard Faust is rarely without his sketchbook, which can be better described as a visual journal and confessional. Over the years, his bookshelf full of journals have become a source to be mined for interesting ideas and insights. He also draws inspiration from mid-century design, cubism, and folk art. He has been illustrating commercial products for over ten years. After completing his BFA at The Columbus College of Art & Design, he began his career illustrating for magazine and book publishers as well as for the greeting card market. His work was featured in the 2007 Society of Illustrators Annual. His paintings have been exhibited throughout the Cleveland area, including two sold-out solo shows.

After giving marine biology a try in college, Susan decided to fall back on a more stable and lucrative profession: illustration. With her artist/writer husband Allen Crawford, she formed Plankton Art Company in 1999. Susan's stylized, graceful forms are largely inspired by nature and mid-century modernism. She has worked for Target, Warner Bros., Chronicle Books, Knopf, Ride Snowboards, Hasbro, National Geographic Kids Magazine, Discovery Channel and The Smithsonian National Zoo. The most ambitious project she's ever worked on was a series of 400 hand-rendered identification key illustrations of fish, plants and other undersea creatures for The American Museum of Natural History's Milstein Hall of Ocean Life, where her drawings are on permanent display. Susan's paintings and drawings have been exhibited at numerous galleries, most notably Jonathan LeVine Gallery in Chelsea. She lives in a historic Quaker town in Central New Jersey, where she often goes on kayak trips in the Pine Barrens to look for tree frogs and orchids.

For the next decade Tracy focused on building a career in graphic and web design, but Tracy's passion for telling stories through pictures persisted. In 2010, she left her design job at a children's museum to focus on being a full-time illustrator. Tracy can now be found working from home in San Jose, CA. Her daily inspirations are her son, husband, and a hairy dog appropriately named Harry.
