Ben Giles was born in UK in 1992, and currently works as a freelance artist in Norwich. Ben Giles earned a BA in Fine Art at Kingston University. His work is defined by his handmade collages, utilising antique and vintage materials to create often colourful and detailed artworks. The collage often spills into other mediums such as sculpture, paint and illustration.

His work is inspired from many different things such as colour, nature, juxtaposition, children’s encyclopaedias, repetition, metamorphosis. Artistically speaking influences range from Bosch’s complex and surreal character filled landscapes, to the metamorphosing patterns of MC Escher. Artists such as Picasso, Matisse, Rousseau and Miro have defined the balancing of colour and the juggling of shape and composition over the years.

Ben has focused on working with commercial commissions for several years, such as magazine editorials, fashion labels and advertising campaigns. He has also exhibited his work around the world, held creative workshops and partaken in art residencies. His goal is to continue to work with a large variety of clients to explore the further possibilities of his work, while also sharing and exhibiting his creations to as many people as possible.

A wide variety of his clients include, Google, Apple, Hoegaarden, Rubicon, New York Times Magazine, Vice Magazine, Wall Street Journal, GQ, Elle, Stanford Design School, Bloomberg Businessweek, Galison Harpers Magazine and Jarrold’s Spring/Summer window displays.

Illustrator, engraver and painter based in Madrid, graduated in Fine Art from the University of Sevilla in 1998. Since then he has worked in different design studios and advertising agencies in Andalusia. In 2004 he moved to Madrid and in 2007 began showing his portfolio. He was named among the top 20 new illustrators by Computer Arts magazine in 2007. Leicester-born Joe Wilson studied at Leeds Metropolitan University, Graduating with a bachelor of arts degree in Graphic Arts and Design in 2007. After a lifetime of drawing and doodling Joe Wilson became serious about being an artist at an early age and has left himself 'no other option'. Joe Wilson took an interest in printmaking at university and studied this heavily in his final year, with a great deal of his work taking the form of screen prints and etchings. This forms the foundation of Joe Wilson's work today, although since finishing university and leaving the print facilities, other ways of creating similar effects have had to be employed. Joe Wilson's work consists of painstakingly detailed, hand-drawn illustrations, usually in fine-line pen or pencil, that are then scanned and edited on the mac. Joe Wilson takes his influence from an array of sources including old engravings, 70s Vinyl covers and surrealist art. Joe Wilson is particularly interested in ideas of evolution, space, and complex constructions. Joe Wilson's unique drawing style attracts a mixture of different clients from editorial to fashion, he has produced work for clients such as: The Guardian, Adidas, 21st Amendment, Mojo magazine, Prospect Magazine, RKCR/Y&R, The Yards, Peter Werth, The Big Chill Festival, and Topshop. With aspirations to establish himself firmly as an illustrator, he hopes to work on many more commercial projects whilst continuing to produce his personal 'thought experiments' for his own pleasure.

After graduating with a degree in graphic design, Monika Roe worked as an art director and creative director for ad agencies in Los Angeles and Indianapolis. Now a full-time illustrator, some of Monika's clients include: Microsoft, Toyota, Mattel, Diet Coke, Pantene, Coty, Conde Nast Publications, Penguin Group, Doubleday, Random House, Harper Collins, Simon & Schuster, Time Inc., The Wall Street Journal, and Hallmark. Her work has been featured in STEP inside design magazine and Adweek. Monika's studio is located in the beautiful wine country of California's central coast, where she lives with her two pugs, Ladybug and Bumblebee. She likes Danish modern furniture, browsing estate sales and drinks way too much coffee.

Patrick started his career as a freelance designer after gaining a Degree in Graphics and Illustration with Commendations for Print Making at Kingston University (London) in 1998. Patrick has done high profile work for global clients including: Transport of London, Cingular, Starbucks, Bacardi, Smirnoff, Coca-Cola and Waitrose, which has resulted in him having to work in Japan, Spain, Italy and the USA as well as London, and having his work appear in many more countries across USA, Europe and Asia. This work and exposure has resulted in Patrick's work being has been short-listed for and receiving commendations for a number of awards, including the Marketing Week Design Award for Corporate Design and Illustration, and the Design and Art Direction Award for Corporate Design and Illustration. (Most notably as a result of his work on the Selfridges Annual Report 2003.) He is also regularly featured in Creative review and the UK design press. On top of all of this Patrick has for the last 2 years been a university tutor, passing his skills onto the next generation of up and coming illustration graduates at the Istituto Marangoni – the prestigious Milan founded Fashion University. Patrick's most recent assignments find him as a spokesman for Hewlett Packard Arts Council and consultant for HP on the development of the HP 130 Large Format.

David Mahoney is a British freelance illustrator based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Since 2010 David has worked with a wide range of Fortune 500 companies and now works under the alias 'Headless Horse'.

David believes keeping tradition alive is important in an increasingly digital age. He specialises in the merging of traditional mediums and digital applications resulted in his signature style coined "tradigital". In 2014, David opened his first solo exhibition at the Coningsby Gallery, London titled ‘Black + White’: a series of animated portraits of twenty leading individuals created in squid ink and watercolour.

Kelly Smith is an Australian Illustrator, working predominantly in fashion and beauty.

With a Bachelor of Fine Art from the Tasmanian School of Art, Kelly majored in photography and graphic design, but reverted back to her love of drawing after graduating. She ran a blog and launched her career after being interviewed in Vogue about an exhibition she was mounting.

Kelly’s approach is mainly traditional, with 90 per cent of the work completed using a graphite pencil. She then scans the drawing in, adding colour and tweaking the image using Photoshop. Her compositions vary – usually it’s a case of highlighting one focal area that’s full of beauty, but in other cases she builds up a scene to surround it.

Her images are intricate, finely detailed pencil illustrations, incorporating pops of digital colour. They are soft and feminine in tone and content.

Scott McBee is a New York based artist and designer. He received his BA in graphic design and illustration from San Diego State University. In 1989 Mcbee launched a successful career in commercial illustration, designing for such major firms as Young & Rubicam, BBDO and Ogilvy. When Martha Napier took the leap and became a full-time freelance illustrator in 2013, the world of fashion design lost a wonderful creator, but the world of illustration gained an excellent artist. Martha’s vivid watercolours and loose, almost naïve style, have given a lighthearted lift to all kinds of interesting projects in fashion, advertising, editorial and more. She also does live painting for clients, and was named a top illustrator to watch on Instragram by InStyle magazine.

Martha was born in the Midwest, grew up in Germany, and today splits her time between Chicago and New York. She loves fashion – that much is clear – and her most admired designers include Miuccia Prada, Marni, and Phoebe Philo. Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Henri Matisse and Cy Twombly are three artists that inspire her.

Beyond art and fashion, she’s had a fascinating life. She’s travelled to the North Pole, and to the Galapagos Islands. “The only place I’ve seen a cactus, a flamingo and a penguin in the same location,” she says.

Martha has a BA in Studio Art from Wake Forest University, and was a Presidential Scholar at the same college in Fine Art. She discovered her love of fashion illustration at the Parsons School of Design, where she studied for a post grad degree in Fashion Design.

Watercolours are Martha’s main media, but she also uses markers, pencils and acrylics. She scans the work into Photoshop and uses the application to clean it up and colour correct it before delivering it to her clients.

Martha is very much a gestural painter, with a very fine skill in getting paints to flow from her brush and soak beautifully into the paper, and to mix with one another. Seen up close, it’s a gorgeous effect. Her work is vibrant and vivid as you can see, and full of joy and whimsy.

“I see life in colour,” declares fashion illustrator Veronica Collignon, and looking at her portfolio full of light, colourful imagery, it’s hard to argue. But she takes her obsession with colour even further in her everyday life. For instance, she has a collection of nail polish bottles that she’s never used. “I always end up buying them because I am drawn by the colours! I even remember names and numbers by a form of colour-coding in my mind,” she says.

That quirky sense of fun carries over into her artwork, but it’s underlined by great talent, professionalism and a fantastic technique. Growing up in Mexico, from a young age she was inspired by drawing and creativity, and her favourite illustrators include David Downton, Garance Doré and Izak Zenou. She worked alongside the latter for two years.

She later moved from her home city of Guadalajara to Paris, and then to Madrid, to study. Eventually, she ended up in New York where she now has a range of clients in fashion, retail, advertising, cosmetics and more.

New York’s cosmopolitan mix is the perfect thing to inspire her. She loves to people watch, and enjoys exploring other cultures, with Moroccan and Japanese at the top of her list at the moment.

Veronica studied on the Fashion Studies programme at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Madrid, and later gained certificates in Fashion and Fine Art from Parsons The New School.

Projects begin with Veronica learning about her client and the audience they want to reach. Research is key, before she plays with different looks and ideas, and then settles on the best composition. After the sketching comes her favourite part – adding the colour.

Whimsical, colourful and fun are words commonly used to describe Veronica’s style. Her work has the feel of classic fashion illustration about it, with striking graphical forms, a gestural style, and lovely brushwork and inking.

Annabelle Metayer is a Montreal based Fashion & Lifestyle Illustrator. Her passion for fashion and all things feminine combined with a previous career as a graphic designer contribute to her style and choice of topics. Annabelle has worked for a variety of publishing clients. She specializes in book covers and characters for packaging.

Judith van den Hoek absolutely loves watching documentaries about Karl Lagerfeld, Valentino and Isabel Marant. They’re a great source of inspiration for this fashion illustrator who uses simple yet expressive line work to capture each garment or collection she draws.

Based in Gouda, in the Netherlands, Judith is also inspired by magazines, blogs and books. She does editorial commissions as well as working for fashion labels, and private collectors. Beyond her passion for drawing, she loves the outdoors and cycling, and says that if she weren’t an illustrator she’d probably like to work in a zoo.

Judith studied at the Grafisch Lyceum in Rotterdam, and then chose to specialise in fashion illustration. So she took a one-year course on this subject in Amsterdam before becoming a fulltime illustrator.

Photoshop is core to Judith’s approach and she uses it for every image she creates. Sometimes she’ll do some sketching by hand at the beginning of a project, but she feels that Photoshop really unleashes her ability to give the illustrations a fresh and clean look.

Minimalism and simplicity are what make Judith van den Hoek’s fashion illustrations stand out. One or two simple yet perfectly drawn lines help her to convey beauty, sensuality and creativity in a very direct way. From there she adds just the right amount of colour and detail to make the image feel fresh and exciting, bringing to it a personal touch.
