Rama, Sue

Sue Ramá is an award-winning illustrator that combines a child-like and fine art sensibility. She has illustrated over fifteen books for children. Sue uses traditional and digital media, often in digital collage. She is known for her intelligence, sensitivity and her narrative sense, particularly her ability to convey expression. She is also a gifted watercolorist, portrait painter and whiteboard animator.

Francis, Peter

Based in Brighton, UK, Peter has created fresh, bright artwork for over 15 years. Being heavily influenced by a love of animation he spent a number of years working as an illustrator in children's television. Jennifer Zivoin is a children's book illustrator living in Carmel, Indiana. Stefano Vitale is an internationally acclaimed illustrator and artist. While studying for a degree in Economics at the University of Southern California, he often traveled to Mexico and the Southwest. Illustrator, Rebecca Gibbon was born in Wales in 1968. The youngest of four children she was fed on a diet of picture books by Edward Ardizzone, Roger Duvoisin & Richard Scarry; she dreamed of being an illustrator. Her favorite book was "Frances Face-Maker" by Tome Ungerer.

Her ambition was realized after gaining a first class Honors degree from John Moors University and consequently a Masters at Royal College of Art, London. Rebecca paints in watercolor ink & cultured pencil, and bases her characters on the people she has met and seen over the years. She used to paint on newsprint until one day she looked back at some old work and it had all faded. Lesson learned she now works on acid free cartridge paper.

She lives with her husband and two boys in what was once the Old Village Stores surrounded by their eclectic collections of vintage children’s books, balloon pumps & 1950's ceramics. She loves junk shops, flea markets, drinking tea & of course drawing.

Lemay, Violet

As a girl in the happy land of St. Louis, Missouri, Violet Lemay was always drawing and making things with her hands. When she grew up, she became a costume and set designer and moved to New York City, which was a lot of fun. Even though she loved her work and living in NYC, Violet realized that her true dream was to illustrate books for children. She moved south to attend a school for illustrators. Since then, Violet has illustrated eighteen books for children (including Isabella's Shoe Studio, which she also wrote), with more on the way—mostly for duopress, her favorite publisher, for whom she also acts as art director.
Violet and her husband Fred have a 12-year-old son, Gray, who is a junior artist/architect/city planner, and is the joy of their lives. Salerno, Steven

NYC based illustrator Steven Salerno creates stylized illustrations ranging from graphically simple and whimsical, to more realistic and richly textured imagery with some also having a retro feel. All are anchored in traditional drawing skills reflective of his admiration for select artists and illustrators from past eras.

It’s the life story of American Milton Hershey, the poor kid from Pennsylvania who built his company, HERSHEY’S, into one of the largest manufacturers of chocolate in the world. "On the Corner of Chocolate Avenue" is a Junior Library Guild GOLD STANDARD Selection for 2022.

Some of Steven's picture books have been translated into Chinese, German, Korean, Japanese, Arabic, and Spanish. His picture books have received industry starred reviews from Publishers Weekly, Kirkus Reviews, School Library Journal, Children's Literature, The New York Times Review of Books, and have been displayed by the Society of Illustrators (NYC) in their annual children's picture book art exhibition, The Original Art. Steven's illustrations have been recognized for excellence by Communication Arts, Print, Society for News Design, Society of Publication Designers, The Art Director's Club, Society of Illustrators, and the Junior Library Guild.

Originally from Vermont, Steven was an honors graduate of the Illustration Department at Parsons School of Design in New York City, where he studied art history, printmaking, animation, and illustration under top industry professionals including famed author/illustrator Maurice Sendak, of the ground breaking picture book "Where the Wild Things Are." LeBarre, Erika

Erika LeBarre has always been exposed to art one way or another as she grew up. Her father worked as a car designer for the big three, and her mother was a ceramicist. Erika’s parents always encouraged her creative side. Drawing was her favorite thing to do. Erika graduated from the College for Creative studies with a BFA in illustration. Initially she worked at an art studio with other illustrators and designers for several years. Since then she has worked on her own for a wide variety of clients and projects such as product/packaging labels, posters, point of purchase, signage, direct mail, magazine ads, editorial, greeting cards, grade school textbooks, eBooks, websites, textiles, logos and even character development. Erika’s working techniques are both traditional and digital including pastels, acrylics, Photoshop, and vector-based illustrations using Illustrator. Alejandro Okif lives in Buenos Aires with his creative family, his wife Monica (illustrator), son Sebastian (musician) and daughter, Simona (illustrator and tattoo artist). Born and raised in northern Ohio, Michael graduated from Bowling Green State University with a degree in painting. Macky Pamintuan was born and raised in Davao, a city in the southern Philippines. As a young child, drawing was his favorite pastime and an activity that brought him delight and satisfaction. Early on, his parents discovered that giving him paper and pencil was a sure way to keep him busy, quiet, and out of trouble. He still remembers the day when he successfully drew Mickey Mouse and Superman, a huge breakthrough and a sweet triumph. He moved to San Francisco at age 21 and in 1998 enrolled in the Academy of Art College to pursue illustration. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in December 2003.
