We noted in March that TikTok might be preparing to take on Instagram with a new photo-sharing app. More recently, The Verge reported that the new app was on its way: In a notification sent to users, TikTok said it was launching "a new app for photo posts" called TikTok Notes. A new photo.tiktok.com URL spotted by TechCrunch also briefly appeared online with a prompt to open a post in the TikTok Notes app. And this week TechCrunch is reporting that the new app is available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store in Canada and Australia.
